Preserve New Jersey Historic Preservation Fund

The 2018 Grant Round will accept applications only for Historic Site Management Grants, for non-construction activities including the preparation of conditions assessments, construction documents, disaster preparedness plans, archaeological studies, and more.  Read the 2018 Grant Guidelines for the entire list of eligible activities.  Applications for funding are due to the Historic Trust's Trenton office no later than 4:00 p.m. on May 3, 2018.

Applicants may request $5,000 to $50,000 in matching funds.  For each $3 request, the applicant must provide at least $1 in matching funds. 

Eligible applicants are units of county or municipal government, or nonprofit organizations that are 501(c) certified and comply with New Jersey's charitable registration laws.  

Eligible properties must be listed on the New Jersey and/or National Register of Historic Places by individual designation, or as contributing resources within a listed Historic District, or be certified eligible for listing by the Historic Preservation Office no later than August 1, 2018.  

All applicants should read the 2018 Grant Guidelines thoroughly prior to submitting an application.

1772 Foundation Capital Grant Program

The the 1772 Foundation, in cooperation with the New Jersey Historic Trust, offers Capital Preservation Grants, up to $15,000, available to nonprofit organizations for repair and restoration projects. The grants require a one-to-one match from the grant recipient. Read more about the 1772 Foundation grant program.
