The Anthony Reckless Estate is a good example of a suburban residence designed in the Italianate Villa style. The building was constructed ca. 1870 for one of Red Bank's leading citizens, New Jersey Senator Anthony Reckless. Frederick W. Hope, a prominent local attorney, subsequently acquired the property. The Woman's Club of Red Bank purchased the property in 1921 for its headquarters, community meetings and events.

The 2008 Trust grant helped fund the exterior restoration of the south elevation. Previous grants helped fund additional exterior repairs and a preservation plan to guide the club's efforts to restore and rehabilitate the building.
