The 1858 brick church maintains a dominant street presence in Salem's historic district. Italianate in style, with round-arched windows, a broad cornice and unusual cast iron door surround, the church once had a decorative wrought iron fence across the front of the property, of which only two posts remain. The building is used by community organizations and is home to an office of the Salvation Army.

The Trust grant will help fund the preparation of a preservation plan that will also explore the possibility of restoring the historic appearance of the forecourt area and the fence.
