Built in several stages beginning in 1785, the Decker-Kincaid Homestead is a typical rural farmhouse, but for the unusual painting on the plasterwork located in the 1837 main block of the house. The painting in the entry hall and upstairs hallway is referred to as "spooning", a black and white swirling pattern made with a spoon. Also featured is an unusual folk art heart shaped face with eyes, nose and mouth.

The Trust grant helped fund the replacement of an antiquated heating system, ensuring that the delicate plaster wall will be maintained in a proper climate.
