The Princeton Theological Seminary is the largest Presbyterian Seminary in North America and one of the oldest. The seminary contains approximately 60 historic buildings dating from the late 18th century through the mid 20th century. Stuart Hall was constructed in 1876 according to the design of William Appleton Potter in the High Victorian Gothic Style.  In 1951 the 58-foot tower was removed from Stuart Hall following damage from a hurricane.

The 2017 Trust grant helped fund a detailed condition investigation of the full exterior of Stuart Hall. The 2005 Trust grant assisted the Seminary in the preparation of a preservation plan for the campus. Completion of this document will play a key role in informing the Seminary’s master plan and guiding future development on the campus.
